Gift Ideas For Your Baby's First Christmas
Baby's First Christmas! It has been a wirlwind of a year, the new baby has arrived and now the holidays are already here. What should you buy for your new little one for their first christmas? We have lots of suggestions of how to have fun with your baby this holiday season.
1. Start a new tradition. Buy your baby a special ornament for your Christmas tree this first year. Each year as they grow older, find another one to give to them as they get older they will appreciate these ornaments to help remember each Christmas that they will someday be able to take with them as they start their own families someday. You can make the first year ornament out of a small baby toy by adding a string to it and writing the year on it.
2. Have a photo shoot for your baby! Lets face it, the holidays can get very expensive, especially for those trying to support a family. Instead of spending lots of money on professional photos, why not try taking your own holiday photos. Place your boppy or other pillow on the couch, drape over them a nice blanket or sheet to use as a backdrop. Next find a cute baby outfit to dress your baby in and then prop your infant up in different positions and take lots of photos. It wont be easy, trust me, I probably took 10-15 photos of my baby before I got one or two good ones, but with digital cameras these days its just as easy to delete the ones that you dont need. Have fun with your baby, this is a good chance for you to play, bond and create good holiday memories with your baby and family.
3. Gift Baskets! Consider a gift basket to place under your tree for baby. Depending on how old your baby is, they could have a great time pulling out the many different items found inside our baby gift baskets from items like teddy bears and rattles to blankys and other toys! Babies love to explore, what an exciting way to let them go to town on this great gift idea! 4. Create A Christmas Newsletter. Its been a busy year, you have a baby now and life is busy! You may not have had enough time to share everything you would like to have with your friends and family. You undoubtedly have lots of exciting news to share with everyone about how your baby is doing, and how much he or she has grown and changed already. Maybe your baby has started feeding on solid foods or maybe he/she is potty training, You should share this with your friends and family, trust me, they want to know how you are doing! The best way to get all of this information out is to write up or type a newsletter including all the changes that have occurred in their first few months of life and what is going on with your family. It is fun for others to read and will help you stay in touch with those closest to you! Send it out with photos and your christmas card, or use this in place of a traditional Christmas card.
5. Start a baby blog! Start a blog online and post photos of your family during the holidays. Write about your traditions and how special the holidays were. Print out a copy to give to your baby when they are older to help them cherish when they are older. Check out Baby K's Blog for more blogging ideas.
