Celebrate The New Year With Your Baby!

Have a Baby Party! - BABY PARTY! No need to be alone on New Years Eve just because you have a baby. Invite other moms and families over for New Years Eve to celebrate with your babies. Plan the party for earlier in the day in order to avoid altering your baby's schedule. This also prevents guests from having to drive late in the evening. Socializing with other parents and babies is a fun yet safe way to bring in the new year. Make easy to prepare appetizers & other snacks for the adults (veggies & dip, salsa & chips, fresh fruit). Prepare a couple different fresh baby foods for all the babies to try together (squash, carrots, parsnip, apples, peaches, avocado), introducing them to new foods is fun & entertaining for parents to watch as the babies explore these new tastes and flavors. Don't forget to take a group photo and send a copy to everyone after the party.
Resolutions Ideas! - READ MORE. Committing to read more often to your baby is a wonderful baby new year resolution. Reading is educational and fun for your baby and is a great way for you to bond as your baby grows. Pick a certain time of day to read to your baby and stick to it!
- LOCAL PLACES TO VISIT. Make a list of places to take your baby during the year. The park, the petting zoo, the aquarium, to mommy play groups, to the beach are all great ideas of places to go with your baby
- FRESH AIR. Promise you will take your little one out for some fresh air more often. The more places your baby can experience the more information they will absorb while they are out and about. Take them for long walks outside in the stroller or in a backpack, fresh air will do them good!
- BLOG. Start a baby blog online and post photos of your family throughout the year and during the holidays. Write about your traditions and how special the holidays were. Print out a copy to give to your baby or add to their baby book to give to them when they are older. Check out Baby K's Blog for more blogging ideas.
- NEWSLETTER. Its been a busy year, you have a baby now and life is busy! You may not have had enough time to share everything you would like to have with your friends and family. You undoubtedly have lots of exciting news to share with everyone about how your baby is doing, and how much he or she has grown and changed already. Maybe your baby has started feeding on solid foods or maybe he/she is potty training, You should share this with your friends and family, trust me, they want to know how you are doing! The best way to get all of this information out is to write up or type a newsletter including all the changes that have occurred in their first few months of life and what is going on with your family. It is fun for others to read and will help you stay in touch with those closest to you! Send it out with photos and your christmas card, or use this in place of a traditional Christmas card.
Growing during the Year! - CLOTHING. Purchase discount baby clothing in advance while prices are affordable! Your baby is surely going to grow lots in the new year, and as time goes on he/she will certainly need more clothing as they outgrow their current wardrobe. Pick out some cute outfits now before you find you dont have the time
- WEIGHT. Get a baby scale so you can track your baby's growth during the year! No need to wait until the next doctors appointment, record your baby's growth on your own. Write it down in the baby book before you forget. Children love to look back on these details later in life.
- GIFTS. Find creative baby gifts to give to your baby as your baby reaches certain milestones or as special events arise in your family.
