Vinegar is a very effective item to use when washing your cloth diapers.  It is an acid and neutralizes alkaline substances.  Vinegar will remove any residual soaps and other detergents found on your diapers after repeated washes. It is also a benefit to those whose homes have hard water as it can take care of any build up of calcium, lime, and any other minerals found on your cloth diapers.

Vinegar is safe enough that you can use it without adverse effects to your baby’s skin, but it is strong enough to eat through diaper cream oils and bacteria.  It will also deodorizes the diapers by destroying odor producing bacteria.

Using vinegar in your cloth diaper wash will help prevent stains from setting in.  It will also act as a natural fabric softener as well as reduce static cling.

Vinegar is friendly to the environment.  It is also less expensive than many other commerical detergents.
