Plastic baby bottles may leach a toxic chemical into formula and breastmilk
Glass baby bottles are safer for your baby!
As a mom you want to use products for your baby that are safe, especially when it comes to feeding. Research shows that many plastic baby bottles are made with polycarbonate plastic which can be harmful to your baby. Environment California has found that polycarbonate clear plastic bottles leach bisphenol A (Bisphenol A is a Developmental, Neural, and Reproductive Toxicant) at levels that has been found to cause harm in laboratory animals. This includes five of the most popular brands.
As a parent you can do a few simple things to limit your baby's exposure to these toxic chemicals.
choose glass baby bottles that are made from glass or a safer non-polycarbonate plastic.
avoid washing plastic dishware with harsh dishwashing soap and hot water, which may allow chemicals to leach out of the plastic.
"After learning about this at my weekly mommy group all the other moms including myself started using glass bottles immediately for our babies. The only way to be sure my baby isnt ingesting toxic chemicals is touse glass bottles, they are very inexpensive and its not worth the risk to me. The glass bottles are very durable too!"
